“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines. Sail away from the harbour. Catch the winds in your sails. Explore, dream, discover.”
In 20 years time, I’ll be 40 years old. Scary. Better heed Mr Twain’s advice sooner than later!
“Don’t give into your fears. If you do, you won’t be able to talk to your heart.”
Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist
I am going away travelling in Europe in a few days and I’m not gonna lie, I’m a little nervous to be facing all these new cultures and systems without someone there to look after everything. It’ll be good though; it is something I want to and have to do. If I gave into that anxiety and didn’t go, there would be a whole lot of stuff that I’d miss out on, and I think this quote and that thought rings true for many things.
“Life is what happens to you while you’re busy making other plans”
A few friends and I have made really exciting plans to go travelling around Europe at the end of the summer and we have planned to visit Paris, Munich, Venice and Nice. I CAN’T WAIT. Hopefully, life will cooperate with our plan-making!
“I always like going South; somehow it feels like going downhill.”
Treebeard, (JRR Tolkien), The Lord of the Rings
I came back down to Southampton today, the journey down south got sunnier by the minute. It feels good to be back at uni. Moreover (just giving in to my inner geek again) I love Treebeard in this film 🙂
