“Whenever the literary German dives into a sentence, that is the last you are going to see of him till he emerges on the other side of the Atlantic with his Verb in his mouth.”

Mark Twain

I am currently reading, or attempting to read, the strangest book in German for my course and the sentences are pages long!  The most annoying thing about German for me is that you have to read the whole sentence to the end to find your verb, before you can make any sense of it!
