“Because one believes in oneself, one doesn’t try to convince others. Because one is content with oneself, one doesn’t need others’ approval. Because one accepts oneself, the whole world accepts him or her.”

Lao Tzu

This bank holiday weekend was a lovely break at home, but I actually learnt rather a lot about accepting people for who they are and welcoming them to what you are whether they are similar to you or completely different. I saw someone who was accepted into a culture that was completely different to his own, but it worked because he is a good person who is respectful of what he is entering into and who shared the same basic values as other people. It made me feel hopeful for the future, a sign that people aren’t always so rejecting and unable to adapt. It was a good day 🙂

    • just came across this again- in a strange way, I totally agree! Kids who are that sort of age need more encouragement to be confident and convicted but also accepting – its a tough age to be!
