“It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn’t use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like ‘What about lunch?'”

A.A Milne, A House at Pooh Corner

Over the past few days I have found it difficult to get my words out; I have stumbled over syllables and tripped over consonants. Examples of this include saying ‘incubine’ instead of concubine and expressing my intellect by saying ‘when they buried Bin Laden at the bottom of the water’. I have a feeling that one syllabled monosyllabic words will be the way to go this weekend – too bad I have a Linguistics piece of work to be getting on with!
